Jordon Smith has put the Triumph TF 450-X in the top ten of an AMA Supercross main event for the first time this weekend, after a spirited ride to ninth at the 10th stop of 2026 AMA Supercross in Alabama. The position also marked a career best in 450SX for the Triumph Factory Racing rider.

A difficult start in the 450SX main event left Smith on the cusp of the top 15, but it took him no time at all to adapt to the rugged racetrack, quickly passing his competition to make up positions. Sitting in 11th for more than 10 laps and with just minutes remaining on the clock, he moved up to 10th and held that position until the end. However, a penalty to another rider moved him up to ninth in the race classification. The position marked the first 450SX top ten for Triumph's TF 450-X.

For the fourth time this year, the SMX Next class competed as part of the AMA Supercross schedule, where Daytona winner Deacon Denno returned aboard his TF 250-X. Starting outside the top ten in Alabama's main event, Denno was quick to make passes throughout the nine-minute stint, taking him just eight laps to settle into fifth, the position that he held until the chequered flag.

Unfortunately Jalek Swoll bowed out of the first 250SX East/West Showdown after injuring his right leg in timed qualification. Swoll, who was 10th in the 250SX East classification prior to Alabama, immediately returned home to visit with his medical professionals in order to determine the best course of action moving forward.

Detroit, Michigan, will host the 11th round of AMA Supercross on Saturday 29 March.

Jordon Smith:

"We took another step in the right direction tonight. We have got better each week across the last four races, so we will try to maintain that momentum. I was much more in the mix in the main event and that's a positive to take into this week's work."

Deacon Denno:

"I had a little mishap in a rhythm in qualification and hurt my ankle. I just had to fight and try to do the best that I could in the main event. I had a rough start and tried to work my way through the pack as best as possible. I fought hard for fifth. It could have been a lot worse, so I'm happy to get out of here healthy."

Jeremy Coker – General Manager, Triumph Racing America:

"Today is the definition of an up-and-down day for the team. In the second timed qualifier, both Jalek and Deacon had situations where they did not crash but both felt pain in their lower legs. We worked with Deacon and he was able to secure a top five, unfortunately, Jalek was not able to race and he’ll be evaluated on Monday to assess the situation. Thankfully though, Jordon had a great day and secured our first top ten in the 450SX class, which is a great step forward for us as a team, Triumph and also Jordon."
