Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team returned to action for round five of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Portugal, kicking off the final leg of the season after the summer break. Mikael Persson claimed his eighth Enduro1 podium finish of the season on Sunday alongside a fifth-place result overall, while teammate Jamie McCanney tackled a tough weekend in Vila de Rei but showed progress, maintaining fifth position in the Enduro1 standings.

The weekend began with a strong showing in the Super Test. Mikael posted the eighth-fastest time and second in Enduro1, while Jamie clocked 11th overall and third in class, signalling good form after the summer break.

Day one featured tough and dusty conditions that made the special tests particularly challenging. Persson delivered a solid ride with a third-place finish on the opening extreme test, his best of the day, but struggled to settle into a rhythm on the deteriorating track, finishing 12th overall and fifth in Enduro1. McCanney had a similar day, clocking a time just four seconds shy of Mikael’s to come home 13th overall and sixth in class.

On day two, racing was shortened to two laps by race officials, but Mikael delivered a standout performance to claim second place in Enduro1 and fifth overall. The Swede rode with confidence and consistency, posting strong times across all tests and finishing just four seconds from fourth overall. The result marks his eighth Enduro1 podium from 10 days raced this season, and moves him back up to second in the category. The TF 250-E rider continues to push in the overall EnduroGP standings, sitting just 10 points shy of fourth.

McCanney also improved on day two to finish fifth in Enduro1, and in 14th position overall. The Manxman’s best performance came in the enduro test, where he recorded his fastest times of the day on both laps. Maintaining fifth position in class in the championship standings, Jamie also lies in 13th in the overall rankings with two rounds left to contest.

The team will now turn their focus to the GP of Italy in Darfo Boario Terme on September 26-28, the penultimate round of the 2025 season, looking to continue their strong form and close the gap in the Enduro1 standings.

Mikael Persson

“It’s a shame the racing got cut short today as I was having a much better day and felt a lot more confident on the bike. I’m really happy with my day two result and to get another podium for the team in Enduro1 is amazing. Yesterday wasn’t my best riding as the conditions were quite tough, but I’m happy to have made up for it today.”

Jamie McCanney

“This weekend was a tricky one as I spent a lot of time working on my bike setup to try and perfect it. I felt like I got into a good rhythm with it at the end of lap two today, just before the race got stopped, so that was a shame. Saturday was difficult too as the tests here are pretty unique, so it took me a while to get used to them the first time round. Overall, it’s been a tough weekend but I’m really looking forward to Italy in two weeks’ time.”
